I've done this to a couple of cars. It is not hard, but it takes a lot of patience. First, of course, you have to remove the entire door panels. You will need to get some cloth to re-cover the panels, preferably with a 1/8 foam backing. You will also need some spray adhesive for cloth.
When you look at the back of the door panel, you see the plasic nubs of the insert. There are about 10 of them. They are held to the door panel with metal push rings. Don't try to take the metal rings off, just try to cut them. If the plastic nubs are broken or break, you will have to fix them. You should be able to get replacement metal rings at Home Depot or a hardware. I think you can also order them from Saab.
You will have to clean off the old cloth and adhesive by scraping, etc. You will then be ready to glue the cloth on. The adhesive is a contact adhesive. I use a bunch of dowels between the cloth and the insert to keep it from sticking. You really need to take your time once you begin gluing. You need to press a bit down and do some pulling becuase in the corner, the cloth need to be pulled tight or it will be wrinkled. Leave about 1/2 inch to fold over the edges and you will have to do some cutting as you fold it over so it doesn't double up the thickness.
Hope this helps. You can make it look great if you have the patience and take it slow.
BTW, what color of interior do you have? I have some maroon ones that I recovered in a parts car that are in good shape.
