I drove my '93 Aero (5spd) through yellowstone last fall (No traffic compared to the summer season, it was the end of september) and the speed limit is 45, with no real reason to want to go faster. I ended my tour of the park (and the drive from Bozeman) with something like 36-38 on the EDU. Freeway speeds (70-80 mph) usually result in something close to 30-31.
Many 500 mile tanks have been acheived in my car while traveling on the freeway (My EDU is a tad optimistic...maybe 5% based on miles/gallon upon fill-ups.
