While waiting for the junk hauler to come pick up the wrecked 94cs shell in my garage, I managed to switch the trunk lock cylinder from the cs to the 94 cde. The flat bed came almost two hours late. But I kept myself busy although I ended up going to the office three hours late.
I have three keys for the wrecked cs but only one for the cde. So it makes sense to switch the locks. The trunk and front passenger side locks are the only ones left unswitched as I waited for the flat bed at home.
The cs trunk lock is longer than that from a cde. So it is necessary to take out the lock cylinder to exchange the pins. It is rather trivial. The only thing to watch out is the key needs to be inserted to keep the pins from coming loose as the lock cylinder is removed from the casing. The whole operation took about 10 minutes.
