...that you've described.
Start with the simple stuff:
-- Are all the vacuum lines okay?
-- Is the plastic check valve on the false firewall okay (check other posts to learn how to check)?
-- Are the safety valves okay?
My money is on your needing to replace some -- if not all -- of these items. None are too expensive, and it's an easy DIY project.
That said, you may still need to get your car to an Indie mechanic after replacing these components. Sounds like you may now have a permanent error code in the ECU, which you'll have to have the Indie clear for you. Not sure if it's the same for your OBDII car as on my '93 Aero (not an OBDII car), but I had to clear the codes to resolve a TCS problem on my car.
You can get the parts from eEuro.
Beyond that, do more searching on this BB to learn about the components I described above and how to deal with them.
Good luck!
Peter Ingram
