Hi Keith,
Thanks for your reply.
Here's what happened thus far. I have a '97 Aero parts car. I pulled the engine out on '94 Aero and dropped in the '97 Aero engine. All was fine until I tried connecting the coolant temp sensor. Well, I didn't know that there was a head change in '95, with the OBD2 requirement I think the coolant temp sensor also needed to be changed. :( So I thought of plugging up the hole and drill and tap another hole in the water jacket, when I found a '95 Aero with blown engine for a killer deal. So I will take the engine back out of '94 (which has the '97 engine in it) and drop it in '95 Aero. And then, I was able to get two '93 CSE's with good engine (for cheap). I was thinking of pulling the engine out of the CSE and making '94 work.
But if what you are telling me is true and the engine is not swappable between '93 and '94, I may very well have to rebuild the '94 engine and leave the '93s alone. I thought the '94 engine was turbo issue at first, but the exhaust has heavy burnt oil smell and my mechanic thinks that it is blown ring. I guess since the '94 engine is out, I'll disassemble and see what needs to be done.
Thanks, and if you have any other insights, I'd appreciate it.
