My husband normally posts to this board regarding car problems but he is out of town so I thought I'd give it a try. My recently purchased 1998 9000 has developed several problems and I'm wondering if are related (and what is the root cause!). Firstly the check engine light has come on. The guy we bought it from said that had happened to him a couple of times and the dealer had not been able to find anything wrong. So I didn't worry about the light. But then I filled up with gas this morning and found that the mpg had dropped about 15% since the last time I filled up. Then at lunch the car had a few episodes of all the gauges on the dash suddenly dropping to zero then popping back up again. The car didn't seem to stall out or anything, although I was mostly accellerating or decellerating when it happened and may have inadvertently bump started it with the gear change I guess. Any thoughts?
