of the absolute necessity of a slave replacement. Maybe I am tempting fire. As much as I'd like to fault SAAB for putting it inside the transmission. It has been reasonably good to me in my fleet of 9k's.

My 94cs has the original slave when wrecked at 176k last December. And I took out the drive train three times. Did try to remove it once. Could not get the torx screws off so I gave up. The 94cs turbo is at 132k, 95cse turbo at 120k. My quess is the slaves are original. I acquired them both after 100k.

Replaced the clutch on the 94cs turbo last March. Didn't touch the slave.

I am going to do the clutch on the 95cse turbo this weekend. Do not intend to do the slave.

The only time I did the slave was on the 94cde I converted to 5 speed last october. I had to because the 5 speed transmission I bought was exposed to the elements so long the slave doesn't work anymore. Stripped two out of three torx screws fastening the slave to the transmission. Had to drill them out.

I like my chances with the original slave and I hate extracting stuck screws.
