hey everyone,
i'm new to the 9000 boards, just got rid of my 900. so i drove my new 92 9000 Turbo home from New Jersey yesterday (about 200 miles) in 95+ degree heat. very close to home i got stuck in rush hour traffic on the highway. most of the trip i noticed that the temp gauge was a little high, close to red which didn't worry me too much as 900 did that all the time with no issues. but when i stopped in traffic, i noticed steam coming from the expansion tank. i pulled off, waited and opened the tank to find it was bone dry. so i bought some fluid and made it the rest of the way home only to find that when i parked, steam again. so today (85 degree day) i looked at the coolant level again and found it seemed to be dry again but i couldn't find a leak anywhere so i filled with coolant again. turned the engine over and waited for it to heat up. sure enough the heat gauge went up, the fan never came on and the coolant bubbled to the top, eventually overflowing a bit when i turned the engine off. so... am i looking at putting a new radiator in this 9000 or can i try a flush first (someone say flush please!! hahahaha) and if so, how much am i looking to spend on the whole job. thanks for all of your help.
