So is yours really stuck? Or is this just a what if scenario..... if its stuck this might help:
I just had this, the PO was nice enough to put back a rounded off plug. I ground the edges off with dremmel, and then used a thing called a gator grip socket (its a gimmick type tool that sears sells).
someone also recommended a craftsman easy out set, which in retrospect would have been a LOT easier.
Either way its something to take care of , those crush rings arent made to last, its a crush metal fit, not a engine gasket, asking it to perform like one could be trouble down the line. It might last but i wouldnt trust it past 10k....
i usually make it my practice to replace the drain plug when it starts to get a bit ragged, and i allways use the 9 pointed sockets which have more area to grip than a regular 6. Ive had great luck in my previous cars using factory/ oem washers (most times aluminum), and i use a torque wrench to torque it down to factory spec. Avoids a lot of greif down the road.
