Luck seems to go my way too in the aftermath of catastrophe. Just grab one off of Ebay for $350. 185k miles But I cannot be picky. The turbo 5 speed transmission for model 94-98 doesn't appear too often. The seller is the same dealer I bought a 9k n/a engine from more than five years ago. They are in Waterbury, CT. I will leave early tomorrow morning to pick it up.
The SAAB 5 speed gear box shop manual I bought a few years ago may be put to use after all. I'll see if I can rebuilt the damaged 5 speed in my spare time. if I can find any spare time. I hope only the gear selector rod needs to be replaced.
