Thanks very much for the direction. The car has the seperate intake runners going backwards off the manifold with 2 inch black rubber couplings. It has a seperate and removable throttle position sensor. As I thought about it a bit more I thought it could be the T/P sensor. I removed it and cleaned it with electronic cleaner. It is open once u remove it and I filled it with cleaner and twisted the pot a bunch of times. It did seem to make a difference. Not as much hesitation or bucking as seen on the gearshift lever (5 sp). It still is not a good smooth idle and when you listen to the exhaust, it has a muffled poping sorta noise and some hesitation at part throttle. I am thinking perhaps the T/P should be replaced if not too expensive to see what happens. I have replaced the plugs today and that had no effect. Put the DI fron that car on my 96 aero and it ran smooth so don't think thats it. I do have a CE light on....not sure how long its been on as the display is WAY dim...need to swap the clock with the 96 to see if its the photo sensor.
I did pull the TP plug off while the engine was running to see if it made a difference ( not much at all) and that may be the reason for the CE light if it was not on previous.
Thanks
Tom
