At 139k miles, the engine of my 94cs turbo 5 speed is very clean inside, completely absent of any sludge. I only had it for less than 30k miles. So credit should go to the previous owner who did a god job in oil change and selection. I only use Mobil 1 at 10k miles after getting it three years ago.
The picture is the removed oil pick-up tube at the bottom of the sump pan. It did pick up some traces of the red sealant I used last March sealing the timing cover and sump pan during clutch replacement.
Stripped another torx screw on the sump pan last night. Had to extract it. Sometimes I wonder why SAAB uses so many torx screws on the car. I never removed a sump pan without stripping a bolt or two, even of my own previous installation. I'd think hex head is better,
