Starting on this car is finicky. Sometimes it starts on the first crack. Other times, the "bendix" kicks out before the engine gets enough turns to fire. Is the spring too weak to hold the gear to the flywheel? Should I just replace the starter? BTW, this car turned 304000 miles today. I don't think I got my money's worth.
