only 1 bottle of 134a fit?? Posted by Everett [Email] (#2220) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Everett) on Mon, 11 Jul 2005 20:56:54 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
After a lot of research I decided to give my 91 a conversion today. Flushed with mineral spirits, drained then primed the compressor, changed all o-rings except the condenser (didn't want to break anything off in there), put a new drier and pressure switch and vacuumed the whole bit down for over an hour. Once the system held 29" Hg for a while I put in the ester oil with an injector through the low side. Finally I stuck a 12oz can of 134a on the same side and let the valve loose. I was expecting the thing to woosh right in there, but in stead I ended up having to start the car to get the majority of the can in there. With the compressor running and ACC on LO I get what seem to be acceptable pressures L-20 H-200. What is going on here? I get pretty cold air but the compressor cycles way too much... every 10 seconds I would guess. Sanden compressor BTW, sight glass foamy with bubbles.
Thanks,
Everett
