Wont start, Crank sensor?

My 92 9000T 5 spd wont start. I was advised to replace the crank position sensor because the car would quit after warming up (and show no tach needle bounce when cranking) and then after allowing to cool down it would start right up. Because of the $255 cost for the complete 9130493 assembly (hall sensor, sensor housing, and connector) I just bought sensor 7484546A from saabsite for about $90 which needed to be spliced in. I was told that this is the same sensor but that the wire colors may not match and needs to be properly connected. I bought just the sensor and noticed that the wire gage is smaller than the old one. I connected the black to black, red to red, and green (new) to green/red (old). After making sure it fired up, I soldered and put on individual heat shrink tubing. She fired right up but after warming up (10 min) she quit. When cranking I get no tach needle bounce (which I assume is also why I don’t hear the plug cleaning buzz sound after cranking or see fuel on plugs). Is it possible that this sensor is not the same and is designed to handle less voltage or amps and that after 10 minutes of running, I killed it? Any suggestions or comments are much appreciated! Todd
