No hot start - when you turn the key to START, do you hear a click from the starter area? I know that's hard to do, and can be confused with the click from the relay area behind the glovebox. And do the lights dim?
If the lights dim or go out and the starter doesn't turn, I'd suspect a bad connection at the battery terminals. Remove the battery clamps and clean the clamp/post mating surfaces.
If the lights don't dim, but you hear a click from the starter area, then the starter solenoid is crudded up. The solenoid acts like a big relay to switch the massive current the starter requires. If the solenoid contacts crud up, the resistance increases. Heat also increases resistance. So when the contacts are hot, they may not pass enough current to allow the motor to start turning.
If you don't hear a click from the starter area, I suspect the ignition switch.
Further troubleshooting would be good - measuring the voltage at the starter would rule in/out bad battery contacts and ignition switch.
