engine, year for year - it's the B234L. It's only the Aero manuals that have different turbos and software, and that's about it - I'm pretty sure the camshafts are identical, auto or manual.
According to the brochures I have, compression ratio was raised with the change to the short engine in 1994 (1993 2.3 CSE turbos and the early Aeros had 8.5:1, for instance). Different exhaust systems might perhaps be fitted though both my CSEs have had the Sports, ie. Aero, system fitted from new.
My EPC shows the part number of the ECU you need for your 1995 automatic as 43-01-917 - is that what you've got from the auto Aero?
However, specifications will vary according to market - for instance, here in the UK the CS/CSE difference is more of a trim thing, so you might have a CS with a 2.3 turbo engine, or a CSE with a low pressure turbo installation.
