93 won't start-heavy gas pedal

yes my beloved and reliable 9k has done it again. it's 90 degrees out and i just moved the car from point a to point b, about quarter of a mile distance. i parked the car, locked it, and was walking away when the alarm started going off. that's strange, I thought, and went back and unlocked it. then on a whim I decided to park it someplace else, so I get in to start the car and-- it won't turn over. All the dash lights are lighting and the starter is going like mad but no start. I give it a little gas and... the heavy pedal. Ah, the heavy pedal. i am only too familiar with this fine feature, symptom of the spectacularly ill-conceived system known as traction control. I've wrestled with the traction control system, along with most everything else in my car (a 93 of course) since I got it several years ago. I have not come across this particular example, however, where the car was working fine, and, suprisingly, has been working fine for a period of longer than two months, and I take it on a short jaunt only to (suprise! welcome to owning a saab) no longer be able to start it again. Is this related to the alarm? Is it related to the heat? My guess is that it's a heat related brain fart in the mind of the mighty tcs computer and it will work fine when i am able to approach the car again without swearing at it or kicking it. Does anyone have any suggestions? Been through this before? Sold your 93 way before i did?
