My new car- a Toyota highlander was struck by lightning recently. I had a lot of things still working in the car-the headlights, the radio, etc. However, they worked at random-no rhyme or reason. My car would not run so it had to be towed to the dealer. I am concerned now because I fear it will never be as it was.I did not actually see lightning strike it because I was working. We had a ferocious storm that night and our building was struck.I didn't realize until I went to drive home and my car felt different-static like inside. The toyota service team say it was definitely lightning but now the insurance team wants to inspect as well.Meantime, I am depending on the kindness of friends and family for transportation since neither Toyota or my insurance will provide a rental. They both have gotten lots of $$$ from me but now that I need something I feel deserted. I know I am not helping you because I am in need of info as well. I'd like to know if this kind of thing can be fixed or if my car is really a total loss. The appearance is still like a new car but you lift the hood and see what I call extreme heat melt down in areas. So any info would be welcome.
