front suspension damage

The 94 cde turbo I converted to 5 speed sustained a collision on the front wheel just before I went out of town two weeks ago. My son was in school, another college student either backed into the front driver side wheel squarely or drove right into it. His trusting nature, or stupidity, took the better of him. He didn't even get the culprit's plate number, driver licence info, insurance, or wait for the police to come write an accident report. Just had a cell phone number because the girl said she will pay out of her pocket. Naturally after damage assessment there is no response from the culprit. Police said there is nothing we could do now. We are left with $1,900 damage (insurance quote).

The car is very driveable, except the front drive wheel looked pushed in a little on the top. There is also very, very slight, almost not visible fender damege.

I took the wheel off. There is no dicernable damage I can tell. What suspension part is damaged to make the front wheel pushed in at the top?

After sitting in the drive way for two weeks, the car also would not start. The battery is good. Starter doesn't turn. More fun for me over the weekend.
