The failure mode for the fan control module is full tilt boogie.
eEuro wants about $104 for a new one. Goldwing is asking $65.
I got one at a nearby pic-a-part for $25. Works fine.
FWIW, quasimotors.com has a R&R procedure, but you don't have to remove the false bulkhead as he says. You do need to be careful removing the three torx screws that hold the unit in place, especially the bottom one that is harder to get to. (you don't want to drop them into the bottom of the aquarium!) But it is plug and play. Take the old one out, put the "new" one in. reconnect power and turn on the ignition. If you fan runs normally you are home free.
But don't run it long with the unit making the fan run on high speed--it can burn out the blower motor. Replacing the blower is less than fun. Much less.
