front suspension damage

Working almost every weekend on my fleet of three 9k's ('94cde, '94cs and '95cse, all turbo and 5 speed) since late spring when I am home, I think they are all now in reasonably good shape. If my son did not get the cde involved in this collision which damaged the driver side suspension where the culprit got away because son's naivety not taking any information except a cell phone number and not getting the police involved, I probably will be bored.

Anyway, the top of the front driver side wheel was pushed in. Car is driveable. There is almost no other damage despite the body shop came back with a $1,900 insurance quote.

I took the fornt wheel off this past weekend. There was no discernable damage with the wheel off. Removed the steering knuckle and found it slightly bent (by comparing with a good one) so I replaced it. I also found the wheel bent when I tried to mount it on the good steering knuckle. So it appears I only need to get another 15 tear drop alloy wheel and cap it will be good as before. Meanwhile I mounted a three spoke directional form an extra left by the wrecked '94cs so the cde looks very unimpressive. I also found later the steering wheel is at 2 o'clock on a straight away.

Should I at least do the rough steering adjustment before sending it in for alignment? I'd think it straightforward to do the rough adjustment by loosening the steering ball joint.
