Cam chains done...ah, blissful quiet!

The cam and balance-shaft chains in my '92 9000T are done. Total working time about 14 hours, plus two hours yesterday chasing parts.
I changed all the guides, but only the balance-chain crank sprocket. None of the rest showed any signs of ramping or other significant wear.
The brushes on my 162K-mile alternator were just about gone, so it was a good time to change the voltage regulator.
Aside from the expected stuff, nothing major was falling apart, and everything went back together without difficulties beyond the customary mess and grime.
Upon first startup the slapping and clattering of the chain against the cam cover was pretty raucous, but it soon settled down to a nice quiet hum. No more of the clatter-clank-clank-clank it's had for about 35K miles.
My main regret was that I wish I'd done this when I did the JT exhaust and all the other work around the front of the engine, this now makes the third time I've had to tear into the thing and I'm tired of it...
