Symptoms were interior lights going wierd and and clicking noise from passenger dash area. With the car turned off it counded like a relay gone nuts. I thought a relay was getting whacky... . Next day, when I went to lock the car with the fob nothing happened, the lights blinked but the locks didn't click and the horn didn;t beep. Then when powering up the car the ACU would click at a speed twice that of the blinkers. The alarm control Unti is directly under the right side dash vent and is help in place by two screws and a rivet that can be accessed only by removing the airbag assmbly or maybe the dash vent. The rivet needs to be cut off.
I sourced a spare ACU from GoldwingSaab and once installed, the car fired right up. I also nothed a blown all is back to normal, except re-assocoiating the fobs with the Alarm Control Unit. List on a new ACU is $725 with a discount getting it to $625... the used unti from GoldWingSaab was $265.
