From the way you worded things,
it seems that your mechanic cleared
the fault codes - the computer info
that tells the check engine light to come on,
because, "it came back on".
That's important, because if the loose pulley
caused something to register as "bad" it usually
doesn't clear the computer when the cause is fixed.
If it has been saying "check engine" since you
got it back, then have the mechanic clear it and
see if comes back on.
Otherwise.
Okay - so what you had was, I believe, the
serpentine belt go bad, and the harmonic balancer
had to be replaced (by main pulley do you mean the
one that sticks out of the engineblock down low?)
If you drove it much while it was in this condition
it could have stressed a number of different components and
you may have to have somebody just run the diagnostic tests.
If you can get the codes, there's usually somebody around here that
can tell you what they mean.
