Why not just do governor seals?

If there's nothing else wrong with the transmission, I'd just do the governor seals and leave it at that. It's VERY easy!
Are you looking for the extra project for experience' sake? If so, does the Saab Depot provide you a NEW or REBUILT unit, or just a used one? Steer clear of a used transmission and stick with the one you know.
There are various nefarious washers to install in the transmission cooler lines, the rear main seal, the pain of aligning the drive shafts on reinstall, adjusting the kickdown wire, axles, etc. which can be a bit of a challenge if the phase of the moon is not in your favor.
That's of course after having removed the battery tray, unbolted and removed the subframe, suspended the engine from a support beam, fiddled with the starter bolts.... You get the idea.
If nothing's really broken in there, spare yourself the heavy-duty curseword usage, unless you just want to learn how it's done. If you just really want to try it, go forth!
As to your rumble, I'd assume that's one of your lower motor mounts signalling their end of life, so you should probably attend to those.
