I think you're SOL. The previous owner should have recieved a form detailing the warranty when the exhaust was replaced. As I recall (but I don't have the car or form anymore), it was only good for the owner that purchased the original exhaust. I don't think it covers labor, either.
I actually got a free replacement muffler, but my situation was kind of unique. My muffler was replaced by an indy, but it was a SAAB original muffler. I had the SAAB warranty form and the reciept from the indy, but NOT the receipt from the SAAB dealer to the indy for the muffler. At that point, I thought I was SOL. I called the selling SAAB dealer (SAAB Nashua North) to explain my situation. Believe it or not, someone at the dealer actually looked through three-year-old records, found the original receipt, and faxed it to the SAAB dealer doing the warranty work. Saved a few hundred bucks.
Sorry if I was a little long-winded, but that little act of kindness (by a dealer) has remained with me for over ten years.
