So.... I just moved from an area I had lived in for 6 years, ..A bad area..I never had a problem with my car, ever.The new place is a townhouse in a good area of town .I have been living there 1 month. Here I am at 1am in the morning lastnight kickin back on my sofa after watching about 4 hrs of boxing on the tv. My fromt door is open and my outter steel screen door is locked, the type of door that you can look out when its closed and see everything.I hear this noise?..I"m thinking, "thats a weird assed noise" (Like the sound of a highpowered pellet gun going off.) Im thinking whatever...no worries. Then..I hear it again! My car is parked about 25 ft from my front door, all the lights are off in my place (except tv) once again going against my nature I dont bother to get up and look. Then..... ..ALARM GOES OFF!!! I fricken jump up to go to the door, look out and see two guys running from the door of my car,. (1995 AERO PIMPED OUT with $5K stereo system)I fumble in nerveousness to get my keys and GLOCK 9 MM. Fumble getting the screen door unlocked,.. run out, hop into my car no warmup!.. Take off after them ..They run into some area and lost me. I see that they broke out the little rear drivers side window , and bent the black metal trim around the window.I had tint on all the windows, so thats why It took them two tries to break it out. That night I taped up the window and put a large note taped to the rear window saying."TONIGHT YOU GOT LUCKY, F$#KING TRY IT AGAIN"! Then I hot glued a single hollow point 9mm bullet to the note.I slept till dawn with a gun next to my side on the wood living room floor in front of the door with the main door open and the screen door secure, all lights out. I have a question ..Is it hard to replace the flat black metal trim around the window? How much for a pro to do it, and How much for a used one? And #2 Does the glass sensor sense loud noise, motion, or sensors in the lining around the edge of the glass... It seems as though impact did not set the alarm off, I think when they opened the door thats when it went off. I know about the overide switch on the dome light. Can anyone give me instruction how to adjust the sensitivity?... Any ways I figure I am out $200.000 for this episode. Window , tinting, metal caseing..Thanx ..
