maybe this is heresy, but.... Posted by vtsnaab [Email] (#26) [Profile/Gallery] (more from vtsnaab) on Thu, 6 Oct 2005 19:08:54 In Reply to: I just had a 3" Magnaflow free flow cat and, Barry, Thu, 6 Oct 2005 18:21:50 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Having looked at the stock prices and living in a heavy salt use
state with the resultant shortened exhaust lifespan - I have come
to regard my high speed grinders, hacksaw and the aftermarket
universal replacement parts as a necessity.
Over time, in my various 9K's ranging from an '87 9KT to a '94
Aero I have usually removed and replaced the flex pipe with a
$30 unit from the autoparts store, easily - but for the cat the
easiest way is to use whatever clamp on fittings are needed and
a universal unit (there are many in all sizes on Ebay...).
Right now I am lucky that my '91 has nearly new exhaust - but
when it gets leaky, I will do what I have learned to do - just
in order to keep the cost/longevity ratio reasonable !
Best Wishes,
mark
