My recently purchased 96 9000CSE had a dead driver's door lock actuator/solenoid when I got it. As a result, the factory security system was useless, because that door stayre unlocked. The local SAAB dealer quoted about $350 to fix it. If I remember right, $250 part and $100 labor. I got a new actuator installed at my local aftermarket security/audio/remote start shop for $100, parts and labor both with a guarantee.
This is probably the most experienced guy in Milwaukee, but from what I gather, any good shop of this type should be able to do the work for a similar price because security systems often involve new actuators and any good shop should be able to figure it out.
