96 CSE - Blown Head Gasket

This weekend my 96 9000 CSE (140k miles) developed an appetite for coolant, about 1 quart in 40 miles. A slight amount of white smoke and running ragged as well. Bubbles in the coolant tank.
Pulling the plugs showed 3 of the 4 to be fine, but the plug closest to the belts was having a tough time.
Sounds like head gasket, which is kind of a surprise as the motor has been well maintained and never overheated.
Anyway, couple of questions;
1. Does anyone know a good place to have a 9000 head decked & rebuilt?
2. At 140k should I think about a timing chain at the same time? This is a bigger undertaking, as it requires removing the front cover, balance shaft chains, etc. An alternative is to roll in a master link chain.
3. Are master link chains as good & reliable as linkless?
4. Where can I find stainless steel exhaust studs for the 9000 head?
