These are your first items to check if the car's giving you rumbling stumbling symptoms and/or no start.
DI cassettes eventually croak, and this is their classic advertisement of that fact, but before you condemn a good DI cassette make sure that you pull out the plugs and verify that they're properly gapped. Gap should be set to .9 mm. If they're way out, the car will run poorly or not at all.
Study the electrodes to see if they're worn, too. It might be time to replace the plugs.
If the plugs look okay then see if you can locate someone with a 90s Saab with a red DI cassette (that works) and swap it into your car to see if it solves your problem. If so, you're ready to replace the DI cassette.
