Rough idle when warm, touch the clutch & it goes away

I just finished a bunch of work on my 90 9kT 2.0 w/ 195K. The problem is that it idles badly when warm. Press the clutch pedal just a hair and the rough idle goes away.

I did the header pipe (reinstall O2), oil pump & main seal (same crank pulley and sensor), vaccum hoses (fuel reg, hooter, supply, pvc), instument cluster lights, coolant flush, thermo & temp sensor, oil filler tube o-ring.

She starts and idles fine cold. There is a very small skip when rev'ing. But when the old girl warms up and "kicks-down" the idle speed, she sputters and trys to stall.

The kicker.........when she is sputtering, if I depress the clutch pedal just a bit (so the master is depressed 1/4") she immediately evens out, and idles and rev's fine (still a tiny occasional sputter).....as long as the clutch pedal is depressed. But when I let the clutch out she sputters and trys to stall imediately.

Its not the cruise control switch....I tested if the car would stall with the cruise control switch at the clutch pedal depressed and the clutch pressed in. The car did not stall.

Clues or advise anyone?
