Check Engine, fouled plugs, no accel

Hello all,
Mine is an 86 9000T with over 200k.
Systems so far:
Falters to the point of serious bucking if pedal is depressed more
than the slightest bit. Hence, only the slightest acceleration is
possible
Idle sometimes falters for a second, almost stalling.
Often stalls in neutral while coming to a stop.
two-month-old plugs are obviously carbon fouled.
Check engine light is on.
Based upon the acceleration symptom, I expected fuel deprivation. To my surprise, plugs are covered w/carbon. I guess fuel supply (pump, press. reg., filter, injectors) is pretty much ruled out. I can't over-emphasize how if I do anything more than just touch the pedal, the car doesn't accelerate, bucking wildly as if about to die. No smoke cloud from exhaust. Prior to this, I had noticed that the car sometimes seemed limp coming from a stop, and I have wondered about the coil causing poor spark and, hence, carbon build-up.
What do you all think? Coil? O2 sensor? Vacuum/air leak? CPS? Other?
Please help as the only Saab certified mechanic here likes boats and I am poor.
