I debated for 10 minutes and got him to send me a check for $611 which is the value of the interior repair minus $300 deductibe, however, he wouldn't budge on value of my car any higher, and said, he seemed like a nice guy, if they had to order another appraisal it would be more thorough and they might find more things wrong (like slave cylinder seal presumably) and deduct for that. He insisted it was standard to appraise value of car based on average value of 2125 - 75% of the estimate of the repairs necessary to fix rust damage ($1600+) - reconditioning fee of $50, which brought me down to $872 which I got back up to $1036.80 by telling him about roof rack, alpine CD, alloy mounted snows, and cost to register a replacement vehicle (which he depreciated).

So, in all, I got as much as I could get in a check, so it was worth it, only loss is that unless I get all these things repaired, they won't value my car for much more than $125 should I have another comp claim, as he wouldn't agree car was worth more than $1036.80 without another appraisal.

Clearly, no point in carrying collision anymore, so I'll save there.
