Ignition Switch Harness (bit long) Posted by nateh89spg [Email] ![]() ![]() |
Hi All,
Been battling with a no start condition for 2-3 weeks now with my 91 9000CD autobox. Turn the key, no movement from the starter. Tried the following: bypass alarm, check grounds, batt. cables, zero voltage drop between Batt and starter, removed and had starter tested (works). Thinking iginition switch now. Unplugged it from the harness this morning and tried to check for continuity from the harness to the ignition wire at the starter. Nothing. Good from the alarm to the starter. No continuity from any post on the harness to the alarm. Before I go a grab a new switch, is it possible to measure the continuity between the harness and the alarm? If it is, which post should it be and it looks like the problem is in the harness, not the switch, correct?
ALso, I have no manual, but I think the neutral/park switch has been by passed already (handicap mods for my mom). Can anyone decribe for me where and what to look for regarding the wires to the shifter that allows the car to only be able to start in the Park or Neutral positions?
Thanks in Advance,
Nate
