Does it still boost into the red on the turbo gauge? An aero should get well into the red - my wife's goes about halfway between the beginning and end of the red. These gauges are just a guide so you really need to get a calibrated gauge to see what your max boost is.
ALso it could be an adaptation thing. If your previous bpc valve was allowing boost all the way to fuel cut-off, the ECU probably adapted to try to reduce the boost, and that is hurting you with a properly functioning valve. Maybe try disconnecting the battery (or just the DI cassette) overnight to allow the ECU to reset and then do some adaptation runs.
