'96 to '98 are generally more reliable, but some prefer the styling of the earlier version. Either way you get a solid, roomy car, and if you get a turbo motor, they have some giddy-up. Bear in mind that not all the earlier models were turbocharged, but all U.S. models were beginning in 1995. 9K's really don't hold value well, so you can get a lot of car for the money with a middle-aged CS or CSE. I got both of mine used and they are excellent.
