So my wife said car didn't have moisture on windshield this morning...

After further questioning, I learned she's only noticed it on cold mornings, just after start (today was a warm morning). And, she doesn't recall turning the heat on.

1. Does the windshield/outside temp have to be cold (below 60F) to have heater core leak condense on windshield
2. Does heat have to be on after start for symptoms to appear.

I drove the car for about 45 minutes today and haven't noticed anything, I tried cooling the windshield, then turning on heat, nothing.

There is a slight film on the inside of my windshield but I can't tell if that's the usual buildup of life.

I did find a small amount of fresh coolant on the front lower engine mount (passenger side) but I'm not sure if it's from some I might have spilled yesterday when I pulled the hose from the overflow tank to check for air bubbles in clear water (none). So, maybe, I have a lead, but I'll have to wait and see...

If that's the case, it's near the water pump, which could mean my new water pump is leaking, unlikely, or a hose, which I haven't seen and they're tight, or...

Can the head gasket leak coolant directly outside of engine in such a visible way?
