The 9000, 9000S and 9000Turbo were model designations through '92 (At least here in the states) and the 9000CD also was in there in '91-'92.
The 9000 would have had cloth interior, fewer options, maybe even steel wheels with hubcaps, and a normally aspirated engine.
The 9000S would have had power windows/mirrors/seats, leather seats, alloy wheels and a normally aspirated engine.
The 9000Turbo would have leather , power _____, alloy wheels, and the turbo engine. ('91 and '92 turbos came with 16" wheels, over the "S"'s 15" wheels.
The 9000CD forewent the hatch for a trunk, and ususally was in turbo trim.
Starting in '93, the body style (and model designations) changed. (The CD kept the '91-'92 body style through '93)
The '93-'98 cars came as: 9000CS, 9000CSE, 9000CDE, and 9000Aero
The CS and CSE designated trim levels. The CSE came with power eveything, leather, etc. Through the years, engine options changed, but the CS/CSE designation doesn't always tell you much about the engine. The engine was an option separate from trim... You'll occasionally hear about a "Super CS" which would have the turbo. Most CS's however, were not outfitted with the 200HP turbo engine, because most buyers wanting to save money would also save money on the engine, and not just on interior things... Makes sense, but there were a few out there who wanted a simple car that went really fast. At some point, they offered v6's in the 9000, and also, the normally aspirated engine was dropped and two turbo-4 engines were options (LPT=light pressure turbo, FPT=full pressure...the same as had been previously offered)
The 9000Aero was introduced in '93 (Actually a mid-year introduction,so some call it a "'93.5") and was produced through '97. Aeros with manual transmissions came with 225 HP and 258 lb-ft of torque. Automatic-equipped Aeros came with 200HP. Both manual and automatic Aeros are faster than their CSE Turbo stable mates. The Aero's came with very unique (And very comfortable/supportive) seats (leather), 16" wheels, and different body trim (All black) as well as body-colored bumper and door sill fairings, stiffer (that is, lower) springs and other suspension bits.
There were a few odd-ball editions:
The CD Griffin came in '92-'93 (?) and came with suede inserts on the seats, and special wheels (And other things, I'm sure)
The '97 CSE Anniversary edition came with Aero body trim, and special embroidery on the seats, also special wheels, and in unique colors (Amythist violet?)
The '98 CSE came as only a CSE, and with Aero engine, suspension, and a variant of the Aero wheels, but not Aero body work or seats.
In other markets, there were Carllson 9000's which were kinda like early-Aeros.
Hope this helps.
Do a google image search to see the cosmetic differences between them.
