Check the voltage at the alternator to rule it out. Im not sure but i think it should be around 11. If the batt. is dying right when you take off the jumpers than it must be toast. Try leaving them (jumpers) on for a few minutes, if this doesnt work than the batt is gone. But even if you replace the batt. the alternator could be junk and may kill the new batt. Check the voltage at the alternator with a regular multimeter.
