There actually is an amazing "key trick" that works on at least our two 9000 Turbos (both 1990s, but one is a CD, the other a turbo hatchback version). Rod Beckner told me about it, and I thought he was crazy; I do not know how Rod knows this, because it doesn't seem to be in the Owner's Manuals, but he is one of Oregon's premier experts in older Saabs and owns what is probably Oregon's largest all-Saab wrecking yard. If your alarm has gone off (pesky thing that it can be), and your ignition is killed, lights flashing, alarm going off, etc, try this! Put key in driver's door, first turn to right to lock car. Then with key in 12 o'clock position, turn key 3 times to the left; do not come back past 12 o'clock. Alarm should stop. Reopen door in normal way, and drive away! I couldn't believe it, but now my 9 yr old begs for the chance to do the magic whenever that dumb alarm has gone off! Bruce in Oregon, who owns 3 Saab 9000s, each with over 200,000 miles. I do maintain several Saab pages within my 240 page website.
