So, turns out it was the crank sensor.
Word to the wise- before purchasing a DI, consider this sensor. I guess normally when it goes the car won't run, or it goes dead, but mine didn't.
I thought it was the DI, because the syptom appeared w/boost. Fact that it did this with no load(and no boost) on motor was perhaps different, and DI was fine...
