I used to buy from Tire Rack, but have found that local shops either beat them or are close enough when you figure in shipping and hassle-factor so that it doesn't matter. You still have to pay for mounting, balancing, and stems, plus disposal of the old tires. And some places charge more for mounting customer-supplied tires.
Also, if there is an issue with the tires you often get much better treatment out of the shop that sold you the tires to begin with. Where TireRack is great is for tire and wheel combos, since they arrive mounted, balanced and all you have to do is bolt 'em on.
Show a local shop the online price with shipping and see what they will do for you. The place I use quotes the price with mount, balance, and new stems, so be clear on what they are saying.
Just my .02.
