rear axle and rear sway bar question

a moron tyre fitter jacked up my 9000 by the rear axle for half an hour or so. It was bending upwards at the time but now it looks ok when the car is back on the ground. I questioned him about it but he said its fine to do that.
so is it possible to see if the rear axle has been bent? I guess a tiny bend might not be visible but be a huge problem.
also, when inspecting under there I noticed that in the length of the sway bar I assume should be dead straight, it bends up on one side.
Should it be bent like this? I need a digital camera!
