I think that it's mostly a gimmick. The main point of these cleaners is that they are a solvent that cuts through the gunk/gum/sludge and such. I have used both, they have had the same results.
As far as this uneven idle thing, I will try doing what was mentioned above about the throttlebody cleaning, etc. I know that it's cold out, but we're not in Sweden. I would hope that the car could handle lower than 19 degrees.
Today, for example, the car sounded like I was trying to start a POS lawnmower with frozen oil in it.
I'm using all synthetic too and the oil gets changed regularly.
So, I don't understand. Could it be the battery? It's new but only starts with around 9.3/4 volts.
