Hi all, I havent been on Saabnet a while but i have been enjoying my 94 9000 CSE non-turbo a lot... except the weirdest thing happened to me today i wonder if anyone can help me. It is a long story but please read on because i am baffled at what this is. I was driving and all of a sudden my car started revving to 3k-4k rpm by itself. I was in 2nd gear, going a speed for which my cars revs usually are at 2k rpm. Everytime i switched gears, i would have to do so at 3k-5k rpm because my engine was running at that rpm and it wouldnt go down. I felt slippage in the clutch at these rpms. I know i need a clutch, but i dont think this is the problem as a mechanic checked it out and says i have some miles left on my clutch. I would think it is a stuck throttle, but my car wasnt just running at a steady rpm...it was fluctuating from 3k-5k, as if i was revving my engine on purpose. I got home, and with the car stopped it was still running at 3k rpm..then it dropped to 500, and stalled. I started it again, back up to 3k...so then i jsut turned it off. 5 Minutes later, started my car again, and its been working perfectly normal ever since. This is really weird to me and i would like to know if this has happened to anyone before, or if you know what it is.
