I lowered it via the ratcheting tie down, while standing above the engine, and used the same method to raise it back into place. I didn't like the idea of being under the transmission (especially not knowing the weight), but I suppose if you're fairly strong that method could work. I've wondered how other people get the transmission out, as I think my method could have used some improvement.
