Follow-up to heater core question

I'm posting as a follow-up to my earlier message about my possible leaking heater core.
First, I did not use Bars Leaks. In the end, I decided not to use it - as many pointed out, if the core was leaking bad enough to spot the carpet, Bars Leaks is not going to solve the problem.
I did clean the carpet. After searching the Detailing forum, I decided to rent a Rug Doctor from my local supermarket. It was about $25 and I had enough solution left over to clean my other car as well as several rooms in my house!
When cleaning the carpet, I discivered two holes in the carpet on each side...indicating that the PO must have had floor mats as these were the holes left from the retaining clips used to hold the mats in place. As Joe98 has said, I bet the PO never got around to cleaning the carpet. Well I did. I put about 2 hours of sweat equity into them.
So for now, I will keep my eye on the coolant level and I think go ahead and order new floor mats (assuming the leak doesn't come back).
Hopefully the slippery and greasiness has come out of the carpet.
Click on the link for a picture of the cleaned carpets. It looks more blue than it really is...possibly from the flash on my camera.
