I was just talking to my mechanic this morning, and he pulled up my records on the computer. I bought my car with 70k in 2001 and now it has 125k. Total spent on his services---$5500. There has been some work that I have done myself, but he has done the biggies. That works out to about the same as you folks mentioned. I paid $7500 for the car, so that works out to about $175 a month AND I still own the car so average costs should lower over time. Not bad for a car that I love. Mine is a 94cs, but as a point of reference it is similar.

I am currently building a heated shop, so I bet my own work can keep my costs down in the future.
